    What is an electric vehicle?

Unlike internal combustion engines, the necessary movement energy in electric cars is provided by the battery on the vehicle, not from gasoline and similar petroleum products. This energy is transferred to the electric motor and the wheels are rotated. The batteries in electric cars are charged from the electrical network via devices such as Volti Charge Systems.

What are the advantages of an electric vehicle?

Charging electric cars’ batteries is cheaper and more environmentally friendly than filling the fuel tanks of vehicles with internal combustion engines. The “Well-to-Wheel” (how efficient it is to produce and then deliver the energy) for electric vehicles is significantly lower than that of vehicles with internal combustion engines.  Electric motors are also quieter while running. Therefore, electric vehicles also help to prevent noise pollution.

How do I charge my electric vehicle?

Electric vehicles are charged while stationary. While Volti HOME provides private charging for people at home or at work, Volti STATION allows you to charge your vehicle in public areas for a fee.

How long will it take to charge my electric vehicle?

Charging times of electric vehicles vary depending on the electric infrastructure, charging equipment, charge receiving capacity of the electric vehicle, and the electric vehicle battery. In the table below, you can find the average charging time for Volti Chargers*:

    Volti GO – 3.7 kW: 8 to 10 hours

Volti HOME – Fast charging (Phase 1): 4 to 6 hours

Volti HOME – Fast charging (Phase 3): 1 to 2 hours

Volti STATION – Fast charging (Phase 1): 4 to 6 hours

Volti STATION – Fast charging (Phase 3): 1 to 2 hours

*Charging times may vary. Values calculated with  a 22 kW on-board charging system (OBC) and a 30 kWh battery capacity.

How do I choose the right charger for me?

Chargers should be chosen based on usage and power requirements.

On the road: You can charge your electric vehicle with Volti GO from any household socket. In other words, Volti GO is your trusted companion and can be used to charge your electric vehicle whenever the need arises. Just like your mobile phone charger, you should always keep a Volti GO in your vehicle.
